How can EV charging work for your business?
As the electric vehicle revolution unfolds, you can be ahead of the game. Whether you’re a landlord, block building owner or workplace manager, installing EV chargepoints is a positive and forward-thinking step. It’s good for your team or tenants, good for the environment – and with the advantageous government grants currently available, it’s a good investment too.
Who can apply for a grant?
From April 2022, landlords, businesses, charities and public sector organisations can claim grants for EV chargepoint purchase and installation from the UK government’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV).
If you are the owner of a multi-unit residential building block, you may be able to claim up to £850 per charge point, with a maximum of £30,000 available per building, on up to 30 buildings per year. Alternatively, you can access £500 towards installing the electrical infrastructure needed to create ‘electric ready’ parking bays for a simple integration of chargers themselves in the future. This scheme may suit commercial landlords, providers of social housing, public authorities and charities, among others.
